What Your Mother Never Told You : A Teenage Girls Survival Guide by Richard Dudum
|
|
About Richard Dudum: Let me introduce myself. I am a San Francisco trial attorney, a realtor, a musician,
a summer camp director, and a cancer survivor. I am also a husband, and the father of two sons and two daughters. The best
part of my life has been the past twenty-eight years working with hundreds of teenagers and young adults, including my own
children. I've tried to provide tools to help them successfully communicate and navigate through the turbulent teenage years.
I've seen both the success and failure of my efforts. My successes keep my going; my failures keep me trying. My older daughter
is in college, and my younger daughter and her friends are starting high school. Over the years, I've seen the same issues
hurt so many girls so many times that I decided to write down my insights, thoughts, and advice. I offer them to you in What
Your Mother Never Told You.

Loosely autobiographical, Sachiko by Shizue Tomoda is a romantic novel that turns the tides of fortune and
misfortune into a spiritual awakening. Robust and heartfelt, this novel is filled with genuine love and heartache as a young
Japanese girl comes-of-age during the Viet Nam era. This breathtaking book describes the vibrant backdrop against which she
begins to define herself and the things she will hold dear. After the death of a father with whom she shared a tumultuous
relationship, and amidst a relationship with a man that she must learn to love with complete abandon, she sketches the portrait
of the strong woman she will become. Wonderfully prophetic, achingly tender, and ultimately tragic, this is a story of bitter
disappointment, soaring hope, ingenuity, and truth.

Personal Training programs continue to grow in popularity and have become an extremely profitable industry.
Every day we hear some Talk Show Host espousing the glorified achievements of this or that 'trainer to the stars' or Tabloid
News shows and magazines promoting the miracles of some 'celebrity's trainer.' In the meantime TV shows like "The Biggest
Loser" continue to attract huge audiences. . . So, with all this 'fitness' going on why is it that the American population
continues to get fatter? In provocative, irreverent and hilarious fashion "Dump Your Trainer" examines the fad of personal
training and explains how it can actually be counterproductive to your weight loss goals. The authors, a nationally recognized
Certified Personal Trainer, and a Stanford trained Medical Doctor also provide a simple, fun, realistic and proven program
for weight loss and lifelong fitness - without wasting your time and money on ineffective personal training.
